BACKGROUND

Professional Background

My perspective comes from operating inside the legal profession at multiple levels — as a BigLaw associate, in-house executive, legal team builder, and law firm administrator working closely with senior leadership. I began my career in a large law firm, where I performed strongly and was selected for cross-office advancement, including an invitation to transfer into a major market office. After stepping away due to workload intensity and cultural fit, I was invited to return. That experience provided firsthand visibility into performance recognition, sponsorship dynamics, and re-entry within elite firms. I later transitioned to a smaller firm through a partner mentor relationship, deepening my understanding of alternative firm structures and partnership economics. I then moved in-house to a financial institution as Senior Counsel and was promoted to Chief Legal Officer within two years. In that role, I built and led a legal team composed of former BigLaw and specialized attorneys, hired and evaluated legal talent, and worked directly with executive leadership on risk and strategy. Most recently, I have worked in law firm administration focused on attorney utilization, talent development, and practice operations, partnering with senior and global practice leadership. This role provides direct visibility into how associate performance and reputation signals are interpreted at organizational levels. Across these roles, I have seen how legal careers are evaluated — not only through formal reviews, but through patterns, perception, sponsorship, and leadership confidence. I bring that multi-angle perspective into each advisory relationship.
